On Good Friday we are celebrating the death of Jesus Christ for the sins of the world by joining Creston Christian Reformed Church and Fourth Reformed Church for a Tenebrae service. Tenebrae simply means shadows. We will trace the final hours of Jesus through Scripture readings, dramatic readings, and songs, all while slowly extinguishing candles until the final candle—representing the life of Jesus—is extinguished. All participants are encouraged to leave in silence, contemplating what His death means.
The service begins at 7:30PM at Fourth Reformed Church, 1226 Union Ave NE. At 6:00PM our churches will share a meal together. All are invited. The meal is also at Fourth Reformed Church.
