Easter

The resurrection of Jesus is central to our faith in Jesus: if there is no resurrection, we have no hope. Following Jesus cannot be reduced to being “a better way to live.” Following Jesus is rooted in the cosmic restoration of all things. Creation itself will be rescued from the curse of sin. This began with the resurrection of Jesus and will be completed when he recreates the heavens and the earth.

At New City we preach Jesus each and every week. Each sermon is about Jesus, whether focusing on who he is or what he has done, and usually both. This Easter we will explore the idea of resurrection and why Jesus rising from the dead is so central to our faith. We will see why his resurrection is the very core of our faith and is the essence of our hope.

Join us on Easter Sunday, April 20, at 10:30AM at Palmer School. Also join us this Friday at Fourth Reformed Church (1226 Union Ave NE) at 6:30PM (for a meal) and 7:30PM for a Good Friday service with the kind folk from Fourth Reformed and Creston Christian Reformed Churches. We will celebrate our Lord and his death for his people, even as we prepare to celebrate his resurrection on Easter Sunday.
